Zara Tindall and Family Shine at Cirencester Races

Zara Tindall and family enjoying a great day at the Cirencester Races on Saturday. Their boisterous energy and celebratory spirit enraptured all those who watched. Joined by her husband Mike Tindall, Zara was representative of the British monarchy’s future front and center with their three children, Mia, Lena, and Lucas. The presence of Dolly Maude, the Princess Royal’s lady-in-waiting, brought a touch of glamour to the royal family shindig. Her daughter participated in the exciting point-to-point competition.

Lucas, who was born in 2021 at the family’s home in Gatcombe Park. He’s a dynamic, roly-poly “ball of energy” who delights in all the doting attention from his sisters and older cousin, Isla Phillips. Zara, of course, is an accomplished equestrian in her own right as a former member of the British showjumping team. At the event, she leaned hard into her image as a doting mom.

"It was Zara who was the most hands-on with her son, which was so lovely to see as she's usually working." – An onlooker

The Tindall family could hardly be contained as they celebrated the day together. Mike Tindall really led the way, getting really stuck in and engaging with all of the children. His vivacious spirit sure made an impression.

"Mike looked like he was having so much fun, running around and playing with all the kids. He's just like a big kid himself." – An onlooker

Zara's deep-rooted love for horses, inherited from her mother Princess Anne, who competed in the Olympics, was reflected in her attendance at the races. The person who loomed largest on the sidelines was her best friend Dolly Maude, a major influence on the cushion. Dolly and Zara have been friends for the last few years. In 2003, following her split from ex-fiancé Richard Johnson, Dolly even shared a flat with Zara for a time. Dolly acted as Zara’s maid of honour at her wedding to Mike Tindall in 2011.

"It was clear to see Dolly is not just Anne's lady in waiting, but is clearly Zara's best friend and a pillar of strength for the family. You could tell by the way they interacted, hugging, kissing and laughing together." – An onlooker

Dolly Maude often accompanies Zara Tindall at events like the Cheltenham Festival. The health, strength and their strong camaraderie was apparent as they delightedly cheered Dolly’s daughter on to victory in the mile!
