WWE Raw Stirs Controversy as Hulk Hogan Faces Boos Over Past Racism

Hulk Hogan faced a wave of boos during his appearance at WWE's Monday Night Raw, streamed on Netflix last week. Actor O'Shea Jackson Jr. openly admitted to being part of the crowd chanting against Hogan. Jackson's actions were driven by a desire for revenge against Hogan's racially insensitive remarks made in 2015.

In 2015, Hogan was recorded using the N-word and making offensive sexual comments about Black men. This incident led to his temporary dismissal from WWE. Hogan later apologized for his derogatory remarks on Good Morning America, but the controversy continues to shadow his public appearances.

Jackson attended the WWE event as part of the promotion for his upcoming film, Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, where he plays the role of Donnie Wilson, a criminal thief. He expressed his participation in the booing, stating, "I was one of them. I'll show you the video," Jackson said when asked about the booing. "Me, Eric Andre, and Wale were giving it to him!"

Despite Hogan's apology, the backlash from his previous comments remains potent. Jackson justified his participation by referencing that the N-word was part of his "daily environment" growing up. He further commented, "Bringing him out here? What'd you think was gonna happen?" This sentiment was echoed by fellow actor Eric Andre and rapper Wale, who also joined in the booing.

The incident at WWE Raw has reignited discussions about whether Hogan's past remarks can be forgiven. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson attempted to downplay the severity by suggesting that everyone engages in trash talk, implying that Hogan's actions were not unique.
