Will Reeve, son of the late actor Christopher Reeve took to the red carpet of the new “Superman” movie like no one expected. This all-star event was held on July 7th, 2025, at the legendary TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles. Christopher Reeve famously portrayed the iconic superhero in the 1978 film and its three sequels: “Superman II,” “Superman III,” and “Superman IV: The Quest for Peace.”

Will Reeve, the son of late Discovering the film was a “small part,” added Reeve, a “tiny part. Though short, he told me that the time spent together was transformational for him.
As an artist whose civilian credentials include a decade of work as an environmental journalist, Will Reeve describes working on “Superman” as having been “very close to home.” Because of that familiarity, he said, this particular experience was “much more comfortable” for him to shoot.
To mark the premiere, Hollywood Boulevard was closed down to make way for the event, turning the world-famous road into a block party. Will Reeve attended the event wearing a family heirloom, specifically his father’s cuff links, as a tribute to his father’s legacy.

Prior to the screening starting, head honcho James Gunn thanked all of his cast and crew before introducing Will Reeve for his warm-up duties. Looking back on his experience, Will Reeve wrote movingly about what it felt like to assume an assignment tied to his father’s legacy.
“I do have a connection to this character, this franchise and movie through my dad. He defined the role for so many people for so many years. So, to be walking literally in his footsteps was something special to me.” – Will Reeve
Will Reeve felt it important to clarify that he is not an actor. He profoundly admires those who do it well. He explained how different it is to be a journalist compared to being an actor.
“I am no actor. I have immense respect for those who do that professionally, because it is difficult and challenging,” – Will Reeve
He added with a touch of humor, “They get takes though, which we don’t get in what we do [as journalists].”
Will Reeve was very positive about the premiere night experience, saying it was fun and very well received by all the parties involved.
