Virginia Roberts Giuffre, known for her allegations against Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew, will have her memoir, “Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice,” released on October 21. This announcement comes only a few months after Giuffre’s tragic death by suicide on April 25 at the age of 41. The memoir promises to reveal “intimate, disturbing, and heartbreaking new details” about her experiences within Epstein‘s sex-trafficking ring and the influential figures involved, including Prince Andrew.
Giuffre’s allegations began to enter the public discourse in the early 2000s. In her statement, she accused Epstein and other influential men of using her as a pawn. Importantly, at least so far, she has not alleged any abuse against former President Donald Trump—something her attorney, Doughty, noted in the lawsuit.
Prior to her passing, Giuffre had made tremendous progress on “Nobody’s Girl,” in collaboration with author-journalist Amy Wallace. The memoir – a detailed, 400-page chronicle of her life and travails – was heavily fact-checked and legally defended by Knopf Publishing. Giuffre had already settled an undisclosed publishing agreement in 2023, rumored to be worth tens of millions.
In her letter to Wallace just a few weeks before her passing, Giuffre revealed her “sincere desire.” She dreamed of her memoir coming out…whatever her situation, however it worked. She felt that the book could change thousands of other people’s lives and spark important conversations about deep injustices.
“It is imperative that the truth is understood and that the issues surrounding this topic are addressed, both for the sake of justice and awareness.” – Virginia Roberts Giuffre
>Her memoir would be the very first time she speaks publicly regarding Prince Andrew since their out-of-the-court settlement in 2022. In that same lawsuit, Giuffre charged Prince Andrew with sexual assault, charges the prince has denied. The settlement ended in a monetary settlement with no admission of wrongdoing by the prince.
Jordan Pavlin, Knopf’s Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, described “Nobody’s Girl” as a compelling narrative. He stated that it showcases “the story of a fierce spirit struggling to break free” from the trauma inflicted upon her. He underscored that the book is filled with disturbing, explosive disclosures. It takes an even deeper dive into Giuffre’s harrowing experiences with Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and their powerful, high-flying friends.
Much like the broader life her experience reflects, Giuffre faced extreme hardship that came to a head on March 24 with an accident that led to hospitalization. Amidst such struggles, she continued to focus on finishing her manuscript before her death.
As exciting as this project sounds, the memoir will focus as much on the difficulties of her journey—like missteps in remembering events clearly. Giuffre admitted these mistakes were a result of the challenge of recalling events from years ago.
“Nobody’s Girl was both vigorously fact-checked and legally vetted.” – Knopf statement
