With those impressive accolades in mind, young professional soccer star Trinity Rodman, the gifted forward for the Washington Spirit, recently made news again. She expressed her support for rising star Ben Shelton during the French Open. Whether scoring goals or making signature moves off of the soccer field, Rodman is full of energy and life. On May 30, 2025, she was there for Shelton’s third-round upset at the historic event in Paris. Rodman’s larger-than-life public persona is no coincidence that this event marks Rodman’s growing public presence. It follows her March surprise social media announcement that they were dating.
Rodman, who plays in the No. 2 jersey for the Washington Spirit, was born for this limelight. She became a trailblazer in women’s soccer when she was drafted by the National Women’s Soccer League at just 18 years old in 2021. This monumental decision landed her the title of youngest player to be ever drafted in league history. Her career continued to flourish as she made her World Cup debut with the U.S. women’s national team at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, showcasing her skills on an international stage.
Rodman didn’t limit her talent to athletics alone. She was an accomplished artist. In May 2022, she released a new children’s book called “Wake Up and Kick It.” This collaborative project brings out another artistic aspect of her life, which includes drawing and painting. This passion for the arts makes Rodman come alive off the pitch just as much as on it.
Rodman has been kicking it since she was four years old. As an artistically oriented athlete, Trinity has created a signature move, the “Trin Spin,” that has become a hallmark of her play style. Her vision is to advance women’s soccer and raise more visibility for women’s soccer around the globe.
Rodman’s serious dedication to her craft shone through when asked about how she approaches big tournaments. She’s passionate about the potential of these events to be a platform to make meaningful changes to women’s sports.
“For me, the biggest thing with the Olympics or the World Cup or any large-scale tournament in general is that I feel like each is an opportunity to change the women’s game in one way or another,” – Trinity Rodman
She takes a further chronological plunge into this argument. … She talks about how these platforms are helping to expand the fan base and showcase creativity in the game.
“Whether that’s expanding the fan base, showing off different styles of play, [demonstrating] creativity in the way we play and the way we score, the way we celebrate; if it’s fashion, if it’s swag, I think all of these major tournaments are huge platforms that we can use in such an amazing way.” – Trinity Rodman
As Rodman breaks ground in the sports world, she appreciates spending quality time with her family and close friends. As she gives us a look at her life through TikTok. There, she interacts with her fans and provides them with an insider’s view of her real-life journey.
