Ticketmaster Responds to Scalper Allegations with New Policies

All this comes as Ticketmaster is under fire over accusations that it colluded with ticket scalpers. This follows closely on the heels of a Forbes article we published on October 20, 2025. The company asserted that these claims are “categorically false,” emphasizing its commitment to ensuring fair access to tickets for genuine fans.

In the wake of growing criticism, Ticketmaster’s parent company, Live Nation, clarified that resale fees account for only 3% of its overall revenue. This is meant to release any lingering impressions out there that the company has a big financial motive to engage in scalping.

Until now, Ticketmaster was letting brokers run a bunch of accounts in boring old industry standards and antitrust violation. In a rare sign of commitment to further crack down on ticket scalping, the company revealed that it would take even more strict measures.

This policy move is meant to reduce the power of the often criticized scalpers and return the distribution of tickets in a more equitable way. Ticketmaster has decided to get tough on multi-accounting and simply ban them. They’re discontinuing their TradeDesk resale tool and requiring tax ID number verification from all resellers.

“We are therefore announcing today that we will no longer let any broker maintain, buy tickets with, or post resale tickets with more than one account.”

The company’s efforts to improve security and fairness in ticket sales goes beyond policy changes. Ticketmaster reported that it has blocked 6 billion fake accounts this year alone and has invested over $1 billion in anti-bot technology. These initiatives reflect the company’s dedication to making tickets more accessible to fans.

With these new measures, Ticketmaster aims to restore confidence among consumers and ensure that tickets reach legitimate fans rather than scalpers. As the company continues to move past this firestorm, its promise of transparency and accountability will be important to watch.

With these new measures, Ticketmaster aims to restore confidence among consumers and ensure that tickets reach legitimate fans rather than scalpers. As the company navigates through this controversy, its commitment to transparency and accountability remains pivotal.
