The footage depicted Shiri holding her children, Ariel and Kfir, aged 4 years and 9 months respectively. However, the whereabouts and well-being of Shiri and her children remained a mystery as time progressed.

An unnamed source familiar with the matter informed CNN that the Israeli government's silence aimed to respect the family's privacy.
In a tragic twist, the Israeli military stated that militants murdered Ariel and Kfir in November 2023. Yet, they did not provide evidence to support this conclusion. This lack of transparency only deepens the anguish surrounding the family's ordeal.
