Tesla's Cybertruck is once again under scrutiny as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a recall due to recurring issues with detaching trims. The latest recall focuses on a nine-feet-long stainless-steel trim piece, known as the "cant rail," located above the doors of the Cybertruck. This component is held in place only by structural adhesive and fasteners. An alarming incident occurred when the cant rail detached while the vehicle was traveling at 75 mph, posing a significant safety risk.
Tesla has encountered multiple complaints regarding the Cybertruck since its release. The NHTSA's involvement has resulted in a total of seven recalls for the vehicle. The current recall affects more than 46,096 Cybertrucks manufactured between November 13, 2023, and February 27, 2024.
