Steve Carell Teams Up with Alice’s Kids to Gift Prom Tickets to Students Affected by Eaton Fire

Alice's Kids, a Virginia-based charity, has taken a remarkable step in supporting students affected by the devastating Eaton fire that swept across Los Angeles County earlier this year. From January 7 to January 31, the fire burned over 14,000 acres, leaving many communities in distress. In an uplifting gesture, Alice's Kids will cover the cost of prom tickets for approximately 800 students from six high schools in Altadena, California.

The high schools, all located in the Los Angeles area, have welcomed this generous offer with open arms. The charity's initiative is further highlighted by the involvement of celebrated actor Steve Carell. In a heartfelt video message shared with students during special senior assemblies at the six high schools, Carell announced the exciting news.

"Attention! Attention all seniors! This is Steve Carell with a very special announcement," – Steve Carell

In his message, Carell expressed his collaboration with Alice's Kids and revealed their plan to cover prom expenses.

"I work with a wonderful charity based out of Virginia called Alice's Kids, and Alice's Kids wanted me to let you know that they will be paying for all of your prom tickets." – Steve Carell

The announcement was met with surprise and cheers from the students, who were thrilled by the opportunity to celebrate their prom without financial burden. The assemblies provided a platform for Carell's message, which aimed to lift spirits and bring joy to those impacted by the fire.

The Eaton fire, as reported by Cal Fire, caused significant disruption across Los Angeles County. For many families, the expenses associated with prom could have posed an additional challenge during an already difficult time. Alice's Kids, through their generous contribution, hopes to alleviate some of this stress and allow students to focus on enjoying their senior year celebrations.

Carell concluded his message with encouraging words for the students as they look forward to their prom night.

"Have fun! Enjoy the prom! And remember, this is Steve Carell," – Steve Carell
