Infinix has taken a bold step towards sustainable energy solutions, unveiling several solar-powered innovations at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025. Among the highlights is a groundbreaking smartphone equipped with rear solar panels, designed to harness clean energy for device charging. This cutting-edge technology features a "Maximum Power Point Tracking" system to optimize voltage regulation during solar charging, enabling devices to charge up to 2 watts.

At the heart of Infinix's display was their pioneering smartphone, the first of its kind to integrate solar panels directly into its design. This innovation marks a significant step in the fusion of mobile technology and renewable energy. In addition, Infinix introduced a solar panel case compatible with its smartphones, allowing users to charge their devices through contact points on the case.

Infinix's Solar Energy-Reserving Technology utilizes perovskite photovoltaic cells, which are noted for being both cost-effective and thinner than traditional silicon solar cells. These advancements aim to make solar charging accessible and efficient for everyday technology.

Garmin also made waves at MWC 2025 with the launch of the 995 Forerunner Solar, a wearable that harnesses solar power for extended battery life. With just three hours of sun exposure, the device can last up to 20 days in smartwatch mode. When operating in GPS mode, it offers up to 49 hours of usage before needing a recharge.

In addition to Infinix and Garmin, other industry players showcased their solar-powered innovations. Powerfoyle introduced next-generation devices featuring solar panels from Exeger, seamlessly integrated into everyday items like headphones and keyboards. Meanwhile, Motorola presented its "Moto Mods, Mico," a solar-powered power bank that charges various devices.

These developments underscore the growing trend of incorporating renewable energy into consumer technology products. The advancements not only promise to reduce electronic waste but also pave the way for more sustainable energy consumption patterns in daily life.
