Sherri Shepherd’s Broadway Premiere Encounter Sparks Mystery

She’s not running for President and so she hasn’t created a surprise kerfuffle herself. This on the heels of a star-studded evening at the Broadway opening of Denzel Washington’s “Othello.” The climactic event on Sunday attracted an A-list guest list. Stars including Jennifer Lopez, Jamie Lee Curtis, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Martha Stewart, Ariana DeBose, and Samuel L. Jackson were on hand for the celebratory event. Shepherd’s great night went off the rails when fellow diva Kenya Moore suggested she was throwing shade at her.

At the reception following the premiere, Shepherd found herself deep in conversation with actors Khadeen and DeVale Ellis. Devale Ellis of “Sisters” fame, who has a huge social media following. It was in this cultural crucible that Shepherd’s supposed offense first began to shine through. Thing is, she’s decided to conceal the identity of the offended celebrity all the while rebutting the claims in public.

Shepherd was blunt in decrying the allegations. She did not back down on her defense, rejecting any idea that her comments were derogatory towards the unnamed superstar. Even with such an outcry, Shepherd resisted identifying the public commenter but offered them an opportunity to address the confusion.

"I would say to unnamed celebrity, because you think I shaded you — which means you watch my show — I don't know who you think I am," Shepherd stated emphatically.

The show’s glamorous Broadway premiere, attended by all the industry heavyweights, had to alter their usual razzle-dazzle. Against the sea of shiny stuff, Shepherd held firm. She maintained her innocence and her memory of standing up for the unknown party in their earlier twittergate scandal.

"Because I know I didn't shade you. Matter of fact, when something scandalous came up about you, I was on your side when it happened," she continued.

Shepherd offered an olive branch to her accuser, inviting them to discuss their grievances in a more intimate forum.

"So, 'cause we've known each other a long time, come sit on my couch so we can talk about it. And you know who you are!" she offered.
