Salmonella Contamination Prompts Recall of Live it Up Super Greens Supplement

Superfoods Inc., doing business as Live It Up, has recalled its Live It Up Super Greens dietary supplement powder. This recall is due to possible Salmonella contamination. This recall affects products distributed nationwide through the company’s direct-to-consumer website and on Amazon.com. In fact, federal health officials are still digging deeply into a recent salmonella outbreak that was tied to the product.

The greens powder is available in Original and Wild Berry flavors. You can pick it up in multiple sizes—8.47 oz (240g), 8.5 oz (240g) and 9.52 oz (270g). In addition, the stick format is commercially available in 30 packs of 0.32 oz (9g) sticks. The recall only affects powders with expiration dates from August 2026 to January 2028. The recalled products all have the UPCs 850077468063, 860013190811, and 850077468070. Consumers need to look closely at the lot codes for the impacted recalled products. For bigger packages, these codes begin with the letter “A,” whereas stick pack merchandise begin with the number three.

The CDC has since confirmed that at least 45 of those infected have reported symptoms. This outbreak was attributed to the eating of Live it Up Super Greens. Of these cases, 12 people required hospitalization. Infections have been documented in over 21 states. These are Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Utah, Washington, Massachusetts, New York, South Carolina, Vermont, Minnesota, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. After the investigations, 16 of the 20 people interviewed said they had taken the supplement.

Investigations continue as well. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is currently evaluating the need for additional recalls. “FDA is determining if additional recalls are necessary and will update this advisory as more information becomes available,” the agency noted.

The FDA has issued guidance on what consumers should do if they have purchased the recalled product. They advise individuals to “carefully clean and sanitize any surfaces or containers that the product touched” to mitigate the risk of contamination.

According to CDC, illnesses associated with Live it Up Super Greens began appearing between 8/22/25 and 12/30/25. Reproductive health and developmental effects Many people started documenting these health impacts during this time period. As the legal investigation continues, health officials are investigating, working around the clock to determine the source of the contamination.
