Royal Sisters Reminisce in Fashion Throwbacks on Instagram

HRH Eugenie of York dug into the treasure trove of family archives to present her weekly fashion throwback on Instagram. Here, she reminisces about her favourite twinning experiences with sister and fellow princess, Beatrice. The time capsule posts document their stylish heyday — with thousands of likes flooding in — drawing focus to their fierce sisterly connection and similar sense of fashion.

In a recent appearance, Eugenie tried a new hairdo, letting it fall over her face, creating a dramatic effect when posed alongside Beatrice. The sisters had a double-barreled impact on the culture, and this on-brand suit—which highlighted their trendy kid aesthetic—epitomized their influence. Perhaps the most striking image is the one that shows what transpired in 2001. That year, both princesses were there for the service of thanksgiving for Prince Philip’s 80th birthday at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. Their matchy-matchy outfit coordination has always elicited a great deal of envy, and this time around was no different.

At the time of that event in 2001, Beatrice was only 12 years old. At 21 years old, the now Beatrice made a statement in 2010 alongside Eugenie. They visited The Elephant Family’s support Britain’s Maharajahs event at the Royal Hospital Chelsea to learn more and show their support. Over the years, the two sisters have proven time and time again how their individual yet harmonizing aesthetics complete one another.

Their camaraderie extends beyond fashion. Eugenie shared a light-hearted moment from a church visit, stating, “Bea and I are laughing hysterically after contemplating what on earth was in our handbags that day going to church…” This intimate and honest comment is representative of the cheeky dynamic between them that still charms fans to this day.

Eugenie further emphasized their fashion choices in another post, exclaiming, “We quite clearly are loving our full lime green and lilac suits!!” The sisters have embraced their royal heritage while celebrating nostalgic trends, such as the ’90s styles they often reference.

In her throwback series, Eugenie used cool hashtags like #tbt and #popsocks. She’s inviting fans to clothe-to-the-past with her and share their own telltale memories of childhood fashion faux pas!

#tbt Another classic of us twinning! #popsocks #bows.” – Princess Eugenie

The princesses’ bittersweet recollections and fashion flashbacks take every opportunity to highlight the trio’s fierce camaraderie. They tell us much more, for they narrate their trajectory as the leading dynamic court of the British royal family. The combination of humor, nostalgia, and style continues to engage their audience, allowing them to connect on a personal level.
