Royal Puppy Love: King Charles and Queen Camilla Welcome New Rescue Dogs

In a heartwarming revelation, King Charles and Queen Camilla have welcomed new additions to their family at Buckingham Palace. The Queen recently introduced her eight-week-old rescue puppy, Moley, during a visit to Canterbury. Meanwhile, the King has also brought home a new puppy named Snuff, a breed known for its truffle-hunting abilities.

Moley, a lively little pup, is the offspring of a mother that is half Jack Russell and half unknown breed, while the father’s lineage remains a mystery. During her interaction with a partially sighted museum group in Canterbury, Queen Camilla shared the delightful news about Moley's arrival, which has added a joyful note to the royal household following the recent loss of their beloved dog, Beth.

“You may well ask. A bit of everything. It's a rescue dog.” – Queen Camilla

The Queen also owns a Jack Russell Terrier named Bluebell, who was adopted from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. Bluebell's playful spirit has provided companionship for the Queen, especially in light of the sadness following the passing of Beth, who had to be euthanized last November due to an untreatable tumour. The Palace expressed their sentiments in an official statement, reflecting on Beth's cherished role within the royal family.

"A sad farewell to Beth, The Queen's much-loved companion from @Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, who brought such joy, whether on walkies, helping on official duties, or curled up by the fire." – The Palace

On the other hand, King Charles's new puppy Snuff is described as a Lagotto Romagnolo, a breed historically from the Ravenna region of Northern Italy. Snuff was presented to the King as a gift prior to his upcoming visit to Ravenna, although it was clarified that this offer was not arranged in connection with that trip.

As a truffle-hunting spaniel, Snuff is expected to bring both companionship and joy to the King’s life, reminiscent of his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who was famously fond of Corgis. The introduction of these two puppies marks a new chapter for the royal couple as they navigate life without their long-time canine companion.
