With the Easter holiday approaching, Prince William and Kate, the Princess of Wales, are withdrawing temporarily from public engagements. They care about family time and wish to spend meaningful time with their three young children as they are home on a school break. This year, they’re enjoying a much-deserved respite from the fray. Not surprisingly, they’re spending quality time right now doing family things with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
The Prince is now 11 years old and the oldest of the three siblings. He is followed by his 9-year-old sister, Princess Charlotte, and their youngest sibling, 6-year-old Prince Louis. The family is enjoying these new special moments together as they celebrate Easter traditions and still getting to enjoy family time outside of the public eye.
Traditionally, Easter Sunday brings the royal family together for a church service. The royal family usually attends the Easter Matins in St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. This year, the King and Queen, Charles and Camilla, will observe a special coronation ceremony on April 20. They’ll be accompanied by other family members on this historic milestone day. Buckingham Palace has now confirmed that other royals will be attending the service. In this number are the King’s nieces, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, and Zara Tindall.
Just last month, Their Majesties King Charles and Queen Camilla returned from a four-day state visit to Italy. The couple is preparing for their Easter celebrations, which include two significant events: the Royal Maundy and the annual Sunday church service. At 76 and 77 years old respectively, the King and Queen continue to uphold royal traditions while navigating their busy schedules.
Kate has been slowly easing back into her royal responsibilities in recent months. She was last seen in public at the St Patrick’s Day parade with the Irish Guards on 17 March. She expressed her feelings about being in these spaces during historic moments.
“I find it a very spiritual and very intense emotional reconnection I suppose, these environments.” – Kate
With Easter just around the corner, the royal family can hardly wait to celebrate their faith. Many are eager to deepen their family connections at this celebratory season. Today, these children are making the most of their school holidays. This produces an ideal opportunity for personal family time before they return to their public spheres.
