Rivalry Renewed: Benn and Eubank Jr Set for April Clash in London

Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr will reignite a storied boxing rivalry in an eagerly anticipated bout set for April in London. Promoted as a "second generation" contest, this match will see the sons of Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank Sr face off decades after their fathers' legendary clashes in the early 1990s. The fight, aptly named "Fatal Fury City of the Wolves," promises to capture the fierce spirit of their predecessors.

Eubank Jr, who boasts a professional record of 34 wins and three defeats, will meet Benn in the ring under unique circumstances. Benn, originally a welterweight, will move up to meet Eubank Jr's weight class. This transition comes after the fight was previously billed as a "catchweight" bout. The match was initially scheduled for October 2022 but was postponed following Benn's failed drug test. After a lengthy two-year battle, Benn successfully cleared his name, with his suspension lifted in November.

The confirmation of the fight has sparked fervor on social media. Benn announced the bout on Wednesday with a post showing him signing a contract alongside promoter Eddie Hearn and Saudi official Turki Alalshikh. His message, "Your Fate has been sealed!" stirred excitement among fans. In response, Eubank Jr shared his thoughts on Instagram, stating that Benn had "just signed his own death sentence."

Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, was instrumental in coordinating the event. He confirmed the fight would take place in London through a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

This bout marks a significant moment for both fighters. For Benn, it is an opportunity to prove himself on a grand stage following his recent exoneration. For Eubank Jr, aged 35, it represents a chance to solidify his standing in the boxing community by defeating a formidable opponent.
