Abbott Elementary creator Quinta Brunson is officially seeking a divorce from husband, entrepreneur Kevin Jay Anik, after three years of marriage. And though they married October 5th, 2021, the two have kept their romance largely out of the public eye. Anik has not yet publicly commented on the divorce proceedings.
Brunson, who’s been lauded for her work on acclaimed series like Abbott Elementary TV, announced her engagement to Anik on Instagram in July 2020. The duo’s bond became illustrative, characterized by Brunson’s telltale declarations of love for Anik’s financial backing. In fact, during her 2022 Emmys acceptance speech, she pointed out his steadfast support.

Their union shot to even greater prominence during a high-profile, November 2022 sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey. Brunson warmly described Anik’s genial comprehension approach for a second time. She highlighted how being with her demanded a level of commitment and loyalty that others were not willing to give.

Yet for these very public promises of support, Anik has not publicly said a word about the divorce filing. The pair have been notoriously secretive about their relationship, though they have provided a pittance of details to news outlets over the years.
To this day, we still do not know why they separated. Neither Brunson nor Anik have said anything official as to what the future holds.
