Queen Mary Displays Grace After Wasp Sting at Family Event

Queen Mary of Denmark had a serious close wasp sting experience during a family picnic at Gråsten Palace on Saturday. She managed to go through all of that with inhuman composure. The Queen had just disembarked from the Royal train and was greeting a crowd of well-wishers when the mishap occurred. Then came the sudden sharp sting on her left thigh. Though caught off guard by the ambush, she responded as she always has with poise and even further responded to attendees after the attack.

The 53-year-old royal wore a beautiful white and orange paisley-print gown and beige heels. She pulled at her gown, looking for the annoying bug concealed inside. The community reacted by bringing medical attention very swiftly to the scene. Unphased, Queen Mary continued her work next to her husband King Frederik alongside their children Princess Isabella and Prince Vincent. The royal family then went back to meeting people on the streets, pretending as if nothing had happened.

Gråsten Palace is a favourite summer retreat for the Danish Royal family. Its history goes so deep, it’s even been said to date from their reconstruction after a 1603 fire. Tons of citizens came out for this occasion, eager to see the royal family. They had just moved from their summer residence at Château de Cayx in France.

Those who were allowed to get close enough to observe reported that, even in great discomfort, Queen Mary was still one class act. A bystander highlighted her composure:

“Sadly Queen Mary was stung by a wasp (she dealt with it like the champion she is) I wish her a speedy recovery.”

Princess Isabella stepped out in a stunning black-and-white patterned dress. Meantime, Prince Vincent cut an impressive figure in a tailored grey suit paired with a clean white button-up shirt. Both kids worked their magic showing off their good manners, shaking hands and flashing big smiles at onlookers. One onlooker praised the children’s behavior:

“The queen certainly did not seem to be badly affected by the encounter with the stinging wasp, and she, together with the King, Isabella and Vincent, made sure to greet the many citizens who had gathered in the square,” – Billed Bladet.

>Even this tragic incident has not lessened the tremendous love and respect that concertgoers consistently developed for Queen Mary. A lot of people were grateful for her even temperament in responding to such a surprise attack. One admirer stated:

“The kids are so polite and lovely, shaking hands with everyone and smiling.”

This incident has not diminished the admiration that fans hold for Queen Mary. Many expressed their appreciation for her calm demeanor in handling such an unexpected situation. One admirer stated:

“Ugh being stung is the worst!! She’s such a class act!! Like nothing went wrong. Didn’t make a huge commotion. She’s the best!!!”
