PSA Canada has announced the grand opening of its newly constructed grading center in Mississauga, Ontario. This facility will allow for a significant decrease in tariff-induced costs for Canadian card collectors. This new facility directly addresses the economic strain caused by cross-border tensions between the U.S. Foremost among these issues are the negative effects of unfounded, punitive U.S. President Donald Trump tariffs on cross-border trade. Brad Hartlin, PSA Canada’s general manager, announced that PSA has been working on plans for this centre for about 18 months. Gonzalez was keen to point out that conversations started long before the tariffs made trade complications worse.
The newly established grading centre will allow Canadian collectors to submit a variety of items, including trading cards, tickets, coins, and card packs, without needing to navigate customs or pay duties. This development is expected to streamline the process for collectors who previously faced significant costs when sending items across the border for grading.
To further simplify these operations, PSA Canada has introduced a temporary import bond. This bond ensures that mass shipments of goods can arrive at their destination safely. By the time they’re patrolling PSA Canada’s California headquarters, it protects the interests of both Canadian and American governments. The bond ensures the return of all items in accordance with the mutually agreed upon terms. This promise provides both collectors and regulators confidence.
Moreover, PSA Canada has the privilege to work in cooperation with 16 long-standing and established authorized partners across the country. These partners will continue to offer grading services, ensuring that collectors have multiple avenues to access professional grading and authentication of their items. With the unveiling of the new facility, collectors across Canada can look forward to an enhanced service experience. It will address the logistical challenges and financial burdens equally.
The opening of this grading centre is a big step forward in improving service for our customers. It will have an immensely positive impact on music collectors from coast to coast. Now, collectors can avoid tariff-related costs. All of which makes it easier for them to stay true to their craft by taking the complicated logistics of international shipping off the table.
