Princess Sofia Balances Royal Duties with Personal Milestones

Princess Sofia of Sweden has been in the spotlight as she navigates motherhood with her royal duties. Sofia is on maternity leave following the birth of her fourth child, Princess Ines, in February. This thrilling new chapter of her life happens to overlap with significant milestones at home as well, including her daughter’s baptism and the couple’s tenth wedding anniversary.

During that time, in 2005, Princess Sofia completed her yoga-teacher certification, while pursuing business development studies in New York City. During her time in the city, she had a day job as a waitress at the trendy pizzeria Serafina from 2005 to 2007. Taken together, those experiences reinforced the path that’s led her to such a diverse career. Driven by her passion for wellness, she opened her own yoga studio. She later released a clothing line that further showcased her entrepreneurial spirit.

Before her life as a princess, Sofia was known as an in-demand 20-something model. She appeared in other notable publications such as Vogue Scandinavia. Her background is as far-ranging as it is reality-tv-like. In 2004, she made her debut as a contestant on the popular Fox reality show “Paradise Hotel.” These experiences have shaped her public persona. More subtly, they have been central to her developing role as a working member of the Swedish royal family.

Lately though, Princess Sofia has come to the fore for more personal reasons. She looked radiant in a white ensemble adorned with a black bow in her hair during a public appearance where she proudly held Princess Ines. Her youngest daughter, Princess Estelle’s baptism will take place at Drottningholm Palace Chapel in Stockholm. Right now, it’s actually scheduled for Friday, June 13. This important ceremony will welcome Princess Ines to the royal family. It will be a double celebration as the wedding will mark the tenth anniversary of Sofia and Prince Carl Philip!

Sofia and Carl Philip are proud parents to three sons: Prince Alexander, nine; Prince Gabriel, seven; and Prince Julian, four. As Sofia creates her family, her tattoos illustrate her story. Yet the sun on her back, the butterfly on her ribcage, and a tiny tattoo on her ankle have become powerful symbols of that growth.
