Princess Iman of Jordan just celebrated her first birthday. She is the first granddaughter of King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan. Born in August 2024, Princess Iman is the youngest child of Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein. Her arrival was a joyous occasion, a celebrated addition to the Jordanian royal family. They had heartwarming moments of happiness and elation as their first grandchild arrived.
In June 2023, HRH Crown Prince Hussein and HRH Princess Rajwa celebrated their wedding at Zahran Palace in Amman. They were joined by royals from every corner of the globe—as far flung as Japan!—including the Prince and Princess of Wales. The couple expressed their joy at the birth of Princess Iman only a little more than a year later. The Royal Hashemite Court officially announced her name shortly after her birth, highlighting the family’s commitment to sharing joyful moments with the public.
At only seven months old, Princess Iman got to make her first official engagement. After weeks of groundwork, she accompanied her parents to a formal audience with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at the Al-Sakhir Palace. This early engagement shows the family’s commitment to preparing their daughter for a life of royal duties starting at an early age.
Earlier this summer someone recognized the little princess flying with her family on a flight. Palace photos showed Crown Prince Hussein cradling her in his lap. It was this image that truly showed the close-knit bond between the members of the royal family, giving the world a look into their personal lives.
To mark Princess Iman’s first birthday, videos of her were released on social media. In years past, these magical encounters captivated fans and royal watchers alike! Happily, Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa recently shared an exceptional highlights reel from their official visit to France. It wonderfully balances their life as a family with proper presentation of their role as royals.
In the mid-February 2025, Princess Iman gained a younger sibling, Princess Amina bint Jameel Thermiotis. Upon meeting her new granddaughter, Queen Rania expressed her happiness with heartfelt words:
“We’re grateful and overjoyed to meet Amina, our family’s newest blessing.” – Rania
Princess Iman is fourth, and not in the direct line of succession. This is in part due to long held customs that prefer male heirs. Jordan The Succession to the Crown Act, adopted in 2013, enshrined rules of royal succession into law in Jordan. This tradition is a direct result of that landmark piece of legislation.
Earlier this month, Princess Iman shared some adorable moments enjoying the outdoors with her grandparents. King Abdullah and Queen Rania have taken to their roles as doting grandparents with gusto. It is the first official photograph of Princess Iman to be released to the public. It’s our way into a beautiful, warm moment between this beloved princess and her concerned, doting parents.
