Princess Catherine Shines at Wimbledon as Iga Swiatek Claims Victory

Catherine, Princess of Wales, attended the thirteenth day of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships on July 12, 2025, at the prestigious All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London. With the attendance of Princess Catherine, this event was a big deal on the British calendar. She certainly sprinkled a little bit of royal magic over the proceedings. Perhaps most noticeable was the absence of her husband, Prince William, as well as their three children, George, Charlotte, and Louis.

Princess Catherine made her debut in the royal box, along with an unprecedented ensemble of guests. Among them were Olympian winner Sir Mo Farah, film director Greta Gerwig, actor Stanley Tucci, triple Olympic champion Adam Peaty and leader of the Conservative Party Kemi Badenoch. As HRH Princess Catherine arrived, she immediately knelt to warmly greet Lydia Lowe. For the occasion, she wore a chic patterned Twofer midi dress that was created by American designer Nicole Miller. The outfit included a utility jacket-style upper half, with pockets and a belted waist that extended into an eye-catching pleated skirt that wowed guests.

And during that championship final, Princess Catherine was able to witness Iga Swiatek completely obliterate Amanda Anisimova in a video game like performance. Swiatek won the match without losing a game, 6-0, 6-0, finishing in only 57 minutes. Shortly after the match Princess Catherine, as generally expected, offered her consolation to Anisimova, and consoled the defeated finalist.

Following Swiatek’s impressive win, Princess Catherine presented the winner’s trophy to the Polish champion. For a few minutes, the two exchanged emotional words while Swiatek’s supporters nearby celebrated her historic win. The ambiance in the royal box was further enriched by the presence of legendary tennis player Billie Jean King, who sat alongside Princess Catherine during this thrilling match.

Joining Princess Catherine in the royal box were her brother James Middleton and his wife, Alizée Thevenet. Their presence added a familial, yet competitive feel to the kinda-sorta-crazy day’s events in the intense atmosphere that is its own family—Wimbledon.
