Princess Beatrice gave some rare insight into her family life. She opened up about the influence of her mother, Sarah Ferguson, on Cressida Bonas’ debut podcast, “Lessons From Our Mothers.” The 36-year-old royal, who is a mother-of-two, discussed her close relationship with her mother and sister, Princess Eugenie, highlighting the joys and challenges of motherhood.
In a teaser video for the podcast, Princess Beatrice shot from a different angle. That one shot did wonders to showcase a lovely, bright and airy central hallway in her home. That choice of setting matched her bright temperament as she described the chemistry among the three. Beatrice described the experience of motherhood as a unique opportunity for personal growth, stating, “I think being a mum is such a fantastic moment to actually re-parent yourself.”
Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, welcomed their second child—baby Athena—on 22 January. Together, they are proud parents to their first daughter, Sienna. The pair relocated to the Cotswolds in 2021, purchasing a breathtaking Cotswold farmhouse for around £3.5 million. Since then, they’ve dived headlong into family life in this beautiful corner of the world. The farmhouse has six bedrooms and two reception rooms, giving them enough room to escape their rambunctious and expanding family.
That means that Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and their mother, Sarah Ferguson, have a unique bond. Most of all, they have a blast playing in the sun. Beatrice expressed gratitude for their mother’s influence, saying, “I feel so grateful that we actually get to share our mum with so many people because she’s such a force to be reckoned with.” This feeling gives evidence to the deep familial connection that characterizes their friendship.
Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice’s close-knit partnership mirrors the lifestyles of other royal families in the Cotswolds, including Zara and Mike Tindall, who reside nearby at Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Park estate. Princess Anne and her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, live in the estate’s original manor house. Queen Elizabeth II blessedly passed this gorgeous estate to her daughter Princess Anne.
