Prince William, the Prince of Wales, recently visited Toxteth, Liverpool, engaging with the local community and students. During his visit, he met with members of the Tiber Young People's Steering Group, as well as children from Princes Primary School and English Martyrs Catholic Primary School. The visit highlighted the Prince's ongoing commitment to community engagement and youth development.
In a heartwarming gesture, the children presented Prince William with three envelopes, each containing a £10 note and instructions for a 'Smile Challenge.' The challenge required the recipient to use the money to make someone smile, without directly handing them the cash.
"This one will be a good one for Louis, he needs a good challenge. That's very kind of you, thank you very much." – William
Prince William's interactions with the students were filled with humor and relatability. The children teased him about not knowing what they had learned at school, mirroring his own experiences at home. He shared a relatable anecdote about his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
"I ask my children this every day and they always say absolutely nothing at all." – William
The royal father has often spoken about his children's interests during his public engagements. Earlier this month, while visiting Aston Villa F.C., Prince William discussed his family's football preferences. Though Prince George is a confirmed Aston Villa fan, William explained he wouldn't impose team allegiances on his children—except, perhaps, to steer clear of Chelsea.
"George is a Villa fan, and we asked about the rest of the children. He said he wouldn't force a football team onto them as long as it wasn't Chelsea because all the people around him are Chelsea fans." – Darren Johnson
A football enthusiast himself, Prince William has long supported Aston Villa F.C., a team he chose for its storied history and capacity to deliver emotional highs and lows.
"A long time ago at school I got into football big time," – William
"I wanted to have a team that was more mid-table that could give me more emotional rollercoaster moments. Aston Villa's always had a great history." – William
