New Joy for Meredith Gaudreau as She Welcomes Third Child

Meredith Gaudreau, widow of former NHL player Johnny Gaudreau, has given birth to their third child. Below, the moment she introduced her boisterous baby boy Carter Michael Gaudreau with pride. Born at home on April 1, 2025, Carter weighed 8 lbs, 3 oz and was 20.5 inches at birth. He shares his middle name with his father. It’s an incredible tribute to the man who left an indelible mark on both Meredith and their family.

Meredith shared an emotional post about welcoming baby Carter on social media. In the midst of her battle, she posted a beautiful pic of herself with her new little one. In that same message, she happily announced their family’s new arrival. She sighed with longing because she, like all grandmothers, observed that Carter Michael looked just like his deceased daddy.

“And he looks just like his daddy,” said Meredith. As she shared this amusing coincidence, I was struck as well. Carter came into this world essentially the same size as Johnny Gaudreau!

Meredith had announced her pregnancy with Carter during a memorial service for Johnny in September. This moment was really a testimony to her strength and her determination to preserve Johnny’s spirit among their family. Alongside Carter, Meredith is already a mother to two other children: Noa Harper, aged 2, and Johnny Edward, aged 1.

Meredith’s eyes misted as she remembered the six months leading up to Carter’s birth. Even though she was broke, she was incredibly happy during that period as a new mother.

It was, hands down, the best six months of John’s and my life as a family of four. These are always going to be the best six months of my life,” she disclosed.

“There’s specifically one week that I will cherish forever — it will be my favorite week of my life out of those six months.”

The bliss of welcoming a new baby into the world has added sparkle to Meredith and her family. The first thing Reliance did was send a news story about Carter’s birth to her husband, John. He was truly thrilled and grinning from ear to ear, sharing the joy that filled their family during this momentous occasion.

Meredith Gaudreau’s journey as a widow and a mother continues to inspire many as she navigates life while honoring the memory of her late husband. As she steps into this new chapter, she does so with an open heart and immense gratitude, savoring every moment she spends with her blossoming family.
