The Wolves Foundation has created an innovative new learning experience and adventure for young football fans. This is the first such initiative since the all-too-soon disrupted return to post-16 education after the Covid pandemic. Brad Moore, the post-16 education and skills manager at Wolves Foundation, announced the initiative, which builds upon a successful program that previously helped students pursue sports degrees and careers in teaching, coaching, and within the foundation itself.
As part of the new program, they are providing a BTEC Level Three Extended Diploma in Sport. It goes beneath the surface on a host of other key issues. These students will dive into the fields of anatomy and physiology, sports coaching, sports science and performance analysis. This comprehensive approach is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for various roles in the sports industry.
Wolves Foundation’s educational opportunity includes everything outside of the classroom. Students will get the opportunity to “play” in some very high-stakes, intense football games. They’ll face off against fellow community based organisations from the EFL and Premier League in the tournament.
Through the competition, the program ignites talent and ambition in these young athletes. It provides them with the important theoretical background to complement the real-world experience. Students should be prepared to develop their professional expertise and build relationships with leaders in the world of sports.
“Opponents include the likes of CCOs from Liverpool, Manchester City, Nottingham Forest, and Aston Villa, and the programme offers a really positive experience of competitive football.”
Mooré also added that bringing this qualification into his faculty represents tremendous potential to deepen students’ education journeys. He noted that
The Wolves Foundation understands the importance of supporting young talent through education. Competitive sports is equally important in helping us realize this mission. The foundation is constantly working to inspire the next generation of pros in sports education. The intent is to produce better defined pipelines to professional jobs in coaching, teaching, etc.
“As a whole, the qualification and associated benefits provide students a well-rounded and fulfilling experience.”
The Wolves Foundation’s commitment to developing young talent through education and competitive sports continues to be a cornerstone of its mission. By nurturing aspiring professionals in sports education, the foundation seeks to create pathways for future careers in coaching, teaching, and beyond.
