A school in Seacombe, Wirral, is set to undergo a significant redevelopment as part of a funded initiative to enhance educational infrastructure. The existing two buildings will be demolished, paving the way for a modern, two-storey facility at the current site off Brighton Street. This ambitious project is scheduled to begin later this year, with the new school expected to reopen in September 2026.
During the construction phase, temporary accommodations will ensure that the educational activities continue uninterrupted. The redevelopment comes after funding approval in 2022 and includes another school in Wirral, Merseyside. The current school offers 210 places for children aged four to eleven and 34 nursery spots. Additionally, Wirral Council funds 16 places specifically designed for children with social, emotional, and mental health needs. The new school aims to provide tailored facilities that help pupils achieve their full potential.
Christina Lahive, the school's headteacher, emphasized the school's integral role within the community. She described it as "the beating heart of the community," highlighting its significance beyond education alone. The new designs also incorporate the school's foodbank, further anchoring its community-centric mission.
