Miley Cyrus Unveils Visual Album ‘Something Beautiful’ Set for Release

Are you ready for Miley Cyrus’ highly anticipated visual album, “Something Beautiful”? Save the date for July 16, when it will debut first on Disney+ and Hulu! This latest effort certainly reflects her creativity, extraordinary vision, and knack for pairing with some of the very best artists in the business—most notably her boyfriend, singer Maxx Morando. More than 20 years since exploding onto the pop culture landscape, Cyrus is still maturing and re-inventing herself as an artist while facing down her own struggles.

In “Something Beautiful,” Cyrus goes through a fantasy wardrobe change from glamorous Las Vegas showgirl to iconic ’60s European cinema star. The project has already received widespread critical acclaim, demonstrating her multifaceted musical prowess. Representation matters, and Cyrus spoke to the need to get modern nuances right.

“These kind of nuances were important for me, creating something that I feel is really modern and very now,” – Miley Cyrus

Cyrus’ fight with the vocal cords has recently been made public after her appearance on the popular podcast, Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard. She spoke on the toll that the high-pressure, tour at all costs lifestyle takes on artists, mentioning the recently-passed Prince as a tragic example. The singer expressed her concerns about maintaining her sobriety on the road. She made it clear that she needs sobriety in order to be stable herself.

“It’s really hard to maintain sobriety when you’re on the road, which is a really important, kind of pillar of stability in my life,” – Miley Cyrus

Even with her vocal issues and hesitance towards touring, Cyrus is deeply dedicated to the craft of live performance. She just joined Beyoncé on stage to perform “II Most Wanted,” a song they both co-wrote together. Unlike in the past, she’s ruled out going on a full-scale tour for this album.

“I do have the physical ability and I have the opportunities to tour. I wish I had the desire, but I don’t,” – Miley Cyrus

Cyrus opened up about the emotional peaks and valleys of unexpected live shows. He described how the almost religious worship from fans can forge an extremely toxic and formative cycle of abuses.

“You have so many thousands of people screaming at you, so dopamine, you’re feeling a lot of love. And then you totally crash at the end of the show, and you start thinking that one person loving you is not enough, it needs to be 10,000, it needs to be 80,000,” – Miley Cyrus

With “Something Beautiful,” Cyrus continues her mission to celebrate legendary women in film and music, push her artistic envelope and create her own lane. She said she was happy with how the project came together in the end.

“I’m just really proud of the outcome,” – Miley Cyrus
