Looking forward to the much awaited followup to the great classic movie, “Practical Magic.” It’s going to dazzle the audiences anew, including thrilling major cast news showcasing both new and returning luminaries. The sequel, officially called Practical Magic 2, is set to be released on September 18, 2026, with production expected to start soon.
Dianne Wiest will once again be seen as Aunt Jet. Channing will reprieve her role as Aunt Franny, both characters they originally played in the 1998 movie. Just like their introduction, their return is sure to evoke a major nostalgia factor. As the tale evolves, Gillian Owens, played by Nicole Kidman, faces tremendous grief. In this follow-up, we find Gillian reeling from the sudden death of her boyfriend. Desperate to rescue him, her sisters plunge into a rigorous course of study in dangerous magic.
Up-and-comers Joey King and Maisie Williams are joining the cast! They’ll be joined by co-stars Lee Pace, Xolo Maridueña and Solly McLeod. Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock, welcome returns! Together, they’ll once again conjure the powerful magic of sisterhood on screen as the iconic witch sisters, Gillian and Sally Owens.
The original “Practical Magic” film, based on Alice Hoffman’s novel, enchanted audiences from coast to coast. It thoughtfully and beautifully wove in themes of romance, familial love, and whimsical magical lore.
