Lauren and Cameron, stars of the hit dating series Love Is Blind, have a big announcement! They recently announced that they’re expecting their first child together. This wonderful news comes after what has been a difficult four-year path to pregnancy. The whole process was quite an emotional rollercoaster, made even more emotional by the recent death of Lauren’s father.
In a heartfelt Zoom interview, the couple excitedly announced that they were pregnant. Lauren called the experience a “ray of hope in a dark sky” following her father’s death last Christmas. The pregnant couple waited with bated breath as they approached the ending of January or the beginning of February, taking a pregnancy test.
Cameron can hardly contain his excitement. After struggling with infertility and IVF themselves, they couldn’t wait to celebrate with them once they found out. When the couple glimpsed that “pregnant” appeared on their test, that moment turned into an inflection point for them.
We could not believe what we were seeing … it was phenomenal! I just fell on my knees and sobbed from the relief,” Lauren recalled, thinking back to when they got the call.
The couple’s journey has not been easy. Parenthood has not come easy. Over the past four years, they’ve faced the same hurdles many other aspiring parents encounter on their journey. Lauren shared her enthusiasm for her organization finally being able to make it to this milestone. In her words, “It’s just been a long time coming. We’ve literally been trying to conceive for four years.”
Now with their own new chapter on the horizon, Lauren and Cameron have looked to their Love Is Blind costars for support. Amber & Matt Barnett have become known as the go-to parent duo for candid, counterintuitive parenting advice. Lauren had nothing but kind words for Amber, calling her “full of advice.”
Excited to have their first child, Lauren told her husband how much she looked forward to reliving her own childhood through their baby’s experiences. “I am looking forward to, first off, just holding the baby and hearing that first cry, but just reliving my childhood through the baby, doing all the fun stuff,” she said.
Lauren is clear-eyed about how bittersweet their journey has been. “It was a little bittersweet because my dad’s not here physically to be with us, but we know that he’s watching over us,” she reflected.
