Legal Battle: Christina Fulton Sues Nicolas Cage and Son Weston Cage Over Alleged Assault

Christina Fulton has initiated a legal battle against her former partner, Nicolas Cage, and their son, Weston Cage, following an alleged assault that took place in April 2024. Fulton accuses Weston Cage of attacking her, resulting in severe and life-threatening injuries. The lawsuit details the extent of the injuries, which include a concussion, multiple contusions, a disfiguring eye injury, dental trauma, PTSD, and psychological damages. Fulton has filed charges against Weston for assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

The legal document also implicates Nicolas Cage, alleging that he enabled his son's behavior through financial support despite being aware of Weston's history with substance abuse and violent tendencies. Christina Fulton claims that Nicolas failed to ensure that Weston received necessary psychiatric help, further contributing to his reckless lifestyle.

Nicolas Cage's representatives have not responded to requests for comment on the lawsuit. However, Weston Cage's attorney, Michael A. Goldstein, dismissed the allegations against Nicolas Cage as "absurd and frivolous." Goldstein emphasized that Weston Coppola is a 34-year-old man whose actions are independent of his father's influence.

"The allegations by Christina Fulton against Nicolas Cage are absurd and frivolous. Weston Coppola is a 34-year-old man. Mr. Cage does not control Weston's behavior in any manner and is not responsible for Weston's alleged assault of his mother." – (statement from Nicolas Cage's attorney)

The lawsuit highlights a troubling history involving Weston Cage. In addition to the recent allegations, he was arrested in July 2024 on charges of felony assault connected to an April incident where he allegedly punched two victims multiple times. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that two counts of assault with a deadly weapon were filed against him by the district attorney. Furthermore, Weston has a documented history of substance abuse and was previously arrested for driving under the influence in 2017.

Fulton's lawsuit paints a grim picture of her son's past behavior and accuses Nicolas Cage of facilitating it. She claims that Cage's financial support included bailing Weston out of jail on multiple occasions and covering expenses for his downtown Los Angeles condominium.

Christina Fulton has described the April 2024 incident as a brutal assault that left her with severe injuries requiring extensive medical care, surgeries, and treatments. These physical and psychological damages have significantly impacted her career in modeling and acting. She alleges that the attack rendered her unable to participate in a recent Netflix project or attend promotional events.

Nicolas Cage's attorney responded to the allegations by suggesting that Fulton's actions are motivated by financial gain and attention-seeking behavior.

"Ms. Fulton’s decision to file a lawsuit against her own son is not surprising given her past history of litigation against family members. It appears to be nothing short of a money grab and call for attention." – (statement from Nicolas Cage's attorney)

The case is expected to proceed through the courts as both parties prepare for legal battles ahead.

"We will deal with this appropriately, and in a courtroom,” – (statement from Nicolas Cage's attorney)
