Recently, comedian Joel Kim Booster encountered a new kind of ghost issue at his home. When faced with it, he went to the uncommon length of bringing in an exorcism to address it. What began a calm street uprising turned into a surreal, Army occupation. Booster had no other option but to reach out for assistance.
At first, Booster started experiencing obvious creepy things that were easy to ignore, like paintings disappearing and objects falling off of desks. One evening, while doing laundry, he saw a man in plaid walk through his house. That totally unanticipated view was enough to get his heart pounding.
“It’s one of the scariest things I have ever experienced because I thought there was a man in my house, and then I went out into the hall and he was gone,” Booster recounted during his appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. This experience prompted a change not only in how he thought about, but how he took action against the unexpected visitor.
With his fiancé, John-Michael Sudsina—who co-owns the house—Booster had to prove the ghostly goings-on to Sudsina, who was initially doubtful. One evening, when both men were home alone, they both heard what sounded like someone sprinting across their living room floor. Time to head home… Booster looked back to see if Sudsina was on her way home. He soon discovered that Sudsina wasn’t returning, and nobody else was, either.
Booster wasn’t about to wait around and let things fester. He really caught my ear when he got proactive, commissioning a remote exorcism of the apartment from a woman in Florida. After the exorcism was complete, she gave him a receipt. It described closure of five dark portals located in their home, and showed that he had 48 possessions compared to Sudsina’s 52.
“I did have my house exorcized remotely by a woman in Florida,” he confirmed.
Curiously, the lady teased that the ghost was not just any ghost, but one that had romantic sentiment towards Sudsina. Oh baby, I know he’s still on the place. In reality, he’s just head over heels in love with your fiancé and hates you. But fear not – I had a word with him, and I broke it to him that he has to leave,” she said to an obviously shocked Booster.
Though these events were unique in scope and character, Booster looked back on the experience with a smile. “It was very funny and strange, but we haven’t experienced anything since,” he said. He even added a light-hearted note about Sudsina’s dreams, stating, “Once again, it sounds so stupid, but my fiancé has not had the dream since.”
