Jennie Garth recently celebrated Tori Spelling’s 50th birthday with a heartfelt tribute, highlighting the close bond they share from their days on the iconic teen drama “Beverly Hills, 90210″. Garth celebrated the occasion by posting old school throwback images from the show that aired from 1990-2000. This celebration comes as Garth continues to acknowledge the deep connections she maintains with her former castmates, including the late Luke Perry and Shannen Doherty.
During an appearance on the “Two Jersey Js” podcast, the actress described her permanent ties to her friends from “Beverly Hills, 90210.” She is looking forward to next month’s big reunion at the 90s Con in Connecticut. There, she’ll reunite with many of her former castmates to reflect on their all together different experiences. Garth expressed her eagerness to grow old alongside Spelling, humorously imagining them one day “in rockers, laughing and remembering the good old days.”
Garth wanted to hold on to those joyful memories. That didn’t stop her from being moved to think about the permanent loss of friends Luke Perry and Shannen Doherty. She died in 2019 at 52 of a massive stroke. Sadly, in July 2024 Doherty passed away at the age of 53, after courageously battling cancer for several years. Although they’re not around physically anymore, Garth shared that she continues to feel very much in touch with them.
“I live in a world where they still are alive in my mind, so it’s very hard to understand that they’re not here physically,” said Jennie Garth.
Garth’s tribute to Spelling and her reflections on Perry and Doherty underscore the enduring bonds forged during their time on “Beverly Hills, 90210”. As it turns out, these friendships have definitely endured the decades, and the demands of life outside the series.
“It doesn’t make sense. It still doesn’t make sense to my brain,” she added.
