Jeff Bezos to Celebrate Exclusive Wedding in Venice with Fiancée Sanchez as Space Mission Leader

Jeff Bezos is in the news again with plans for an over-the-top wedding reception in Venice, Italy. The celebrations are scheduled for June 24-26, 2025. Lauren Sanchez, the fiancée of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, is one such creative, intelligent accomplished journalist and aviation expert. She’ll be in the spotlight both at their future wedding and in her capacity as captain of Blue Origin’s NS-31 space mission. This mission will launch on March 31, 2025 and will carry a crew of six high-profile women.

Sanchez’s passion for space exploration inspired her to write a children’s book titled “The Fly Who Flew to Space,” which was published in September 2024. Her diverse career reflects not only her journalistic talent, but her dedication to promoting the next era of space travel. As Sanchez prepares to launch on the NS-31 mission, Dr. Her new position highlights her passion for educating the next generation on the opportunities and excitement of space travel.

We hope you’ll join us for this very special and intimate wedding affair! Just 200 guests have been invited to see Bezos and Sanchez become one. The glamorous couple will moor Bezos’ $500-million superyacht, Koru, in the picturesque Venice lagoon during 👀 celebration 🤯. At a gross tonnage of 3,493, Koru is indeed massive. Because of city regulations, it cannot build too close to its beautiful and iconic Grand Canal.

In a personal appeal announcing the wedding event, the city of Venice made clear that it is such a big deal. Bezos and Sanchez will be required to request a marriage license at least 60 days ahead of time. That’s needed if they want to get married on the high seas of Italian waters. According to some accounts, the official ceremony will occur before they even get to Venice. This timing would allow them to commemorate their union with friends and family.

With the scale and splendor they’re reportedly planning for their wedding, all eyes will be on them. It won’t be happening at St. Mark’s Square, because recent local regulations block larger vessels from entering this historic site. Yet this decision nonetheless underscores the logistical challenges of holding such a gargantuan event in a city known for its beautiful, narrow canals and storied history. At the same time it expresses the couple’s desire to celebrate in a way that truly respects Venice’s extraordinary ecology.

Our members here are so excited and preparations for this exclusive event are down to the wire. For Bezos and Sanchez, the pair are committed to making their wedding day a reflection of their shared interests, rather than simply a private affair. Innovation Sanchez will lead the upcoming, highly-anticipated Blue Origin mission. She writes to excite the next generation of space explorers, bringing to life the couple’s extraordinary combination of drive and artistry.
