Jason Bateman Celebrates Family at Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Actor and director, Jason Bateman, presented his family with great pride at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). He was joined by them at the premiere of his new film, “Black Rabbit.” The event took place at TIFF Lightbox in Toronto, Ontario, on September 7th, 2025. Bateman walked the red carpet with his wife Amanda Anka and their two daughters – Francesca Nora Bateman & Maple Sylvie Bateman.

For Anka and Bateman, it’s been more than twenty years of wedded bliss. Their close relationship is founded on respect and admiration for each other. Still, as he tracks the pace of his own demanding career, Bateman admits that Anka regularly has to shoulder the burden of a family life. He thanked her for her steadfast support, proclaiming,

“I would like to say, specifically though, to my wife, my two daughters — Amanda, Franny and Maple — without you, none of it would be enjoyable and it probably wouldn’t be possible.” – Jason Bateman

At the premiere, Bateman sported a cool gray short-sleeved button up shirt. Francesca Nora stunned in a backless, sheer black dress and Maple Sylvie wore an elegant brown satin gown. Anka matched them with her stylish black vest top and pants.

In a series of interviews leading up to the show’s premiere, Bateman spoke on the bittersweet nature of fatherhood. He’s said in the past that being the dad of twins is what he’d always dreamed it would be.

“Being a father of two is everything I wanted.” – Jason Bateman

One big lesson we learned is just how deeply family matters to him. Work-life balance can be difficult at both home and work. Yet, he keeps weekend quality family time, and when he gets back home from filming he makes sure to keep that time too.

In particular, Bateman spoke highly of his wife’s role in their family dynamic. He appreciates the way that she has been juggling their daughters’ needs while he’s been tied up with all of his work obligations.

“I’m a big fan of marriage and being a dad,” – Jason Bateman

Though his busy professional life poses many challenges, Bateman said he does his best, when schedules permit, to spend quality time with his daughters. He told us that he’s been trying to make time with family that he’s lost, when possible.

Bateman’s commitment to his family and home is evident in Bateman’s public life and private life alike. Along with Anka and their two daughters, he took in the TIFF premiere. It’s a telling example of his dedication to family, despite his grueling decades-long Hollywood career.
