Isak Accuses Newcastle of Betrayal as Liverpool Pursues Transfer

Alexander Isak, the 25-year-old Swedish international striker, has publicly accused Newcastle United of breaking promises and misleading supporters in a recent social media statement. Yet his comments fuel perennial rumors about his future with the club. This follows on the heels of Liverpool’s own record-setting £110 million ($148.34 million) bid earlier this month.

In a series of Instagram stories, Isak criticized the club for how they treated him following the situation. He stated, “I’ve kept quiet for a long time while others have spoken. This silence has allowed people to perpetuate their own version of events, even though they know it doesn’t reflect what was really said and agreed behind closed doors.” He further elaborated, “The reality is that promises were made and the club has known my position for a long time. Acting as if these issues have only just emerged is misleading.”

Isak re-iterated his desire to leave Newcastle United. He let slip that he’d communicated his plans to the club way in advance. He emphasized the importance of trust in any relationship, stating, “When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship can’t continue.”

Isak was subsequently awarded a place in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year for 2024–25. He didn’t show up on Saturday, during Newcastle United’s 0-0 with Aston Villa in their opening match. He was training alone because his future with the club was up in the air.

Newcastle United responded to Isak’s accusations. The reelection reft She wiped back The Sanchez noncompliance Smith displeased concoction. A club spokesperson said in response, We are unequivocal in saying that Alex is still under contract. And we do everything we can to keep our top-tier players at home. At the same time, we honor their wishes and deeply listen to their stories.

As tensions rise, Eddie Howe, the head coach of Newcastle United, mentioned that Isak “controlled” his own future ahead of the season opener. Liverpool enjoyed an exhilarating start to their Premier League season, edging out Bournemouth 4-2 in Anfield on Friday. The Reds are scheduled to play against Newcastle United on this upcoming Monday, a match that could make Isak’s situation even worse.
