Emilie Kiser, known as @emiliesheart on social media, is crushed. Her as yet unnamed 3-year-old son fatally drowned near their home in Chandler, Arizona on May 12. The crash happened just before 7 p.m. When emergency responders arrived, they were responding to a call about an unwakeable child.
Following the incident, Kiser’s son was swiftly transported to a local hospital before being transferred to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where he remained in critical condition. They tried to save him, and the Chandler police department and town officials subsequently announced his death.
The Chandler police have announced that they expect the investigation into the exact circumstances producing the drowning to continue. My friends and colleagues at NACTO have been laboring, too, to collect all the available information relevant to this tragic incident.
“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the child’s family and loved ones during this unimaginable time,” said a representative from the Chandler Police Department. This statement highlights that the outpouring of love and support continues as the community stands with Kiser and her family during this tragedy.

Her blogging, social media, and other advocacy efforts have made her a hugely influential voice in the digital space. In turn, she’s being showered with condolences and support from her large and devoted fanbase.

“We are as respectful of their family’s privacy as possible,” said Chandler Police Department spokesman David Reddick. “We will not be divulging any further information until the investigation is complete.”
