Built in 1870, Sandringham House stands as a testament to royal heritage, with much of its interior remaining unchanged since Edwardian times. The house boasts an impressive collection of art, including Meissen porcelain, semi-precious stones, and Minton china. King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra were responsible for the Jacobean-style exterior, while a ballroom was added in 1883 to enhance its grandeur.
Sandringham House holds significant historical importance for the British royal family. It was here that Queen Elizabeth II delivered her first televised Christmas broadcast to the nation in 1957. The house also witnessed the passing of George VI on February 6, 1952. Following his death, Princess Elizabeth returned from Kenya as the new monarch.
