James Middleton, the younger brother of Catherine, Princess of Wales, recently shared heartwarming moments from a family ski holiday in the mountains with his wife and their newborn son, Inigo. The trip marks a significant milestone for the family, as it is Inigo's first holiday since his birth just a few weeks ago.
The Middleton family, including their beloved pet dog, embraced the winter wonderland while skiing together. Each day was filled with adventure, as they included baby Inigo in all their activities. James expressed his excitement about creating lasting memories with his son, who is growing up rapidly, often leaving him both thrilled and apprehensive.
January has historically been a challenging month for James, whom he refers to as "blue January." He described it as a time when he feels overwhelmed by the lingering effects of the festive season and unrealistic New Year resolutions. Reflecting on this year's experience, he shared:
“A different type of January blues… The January blues used to hit me hard…and to some extent it still does – the lingering aftermath of the festive season and long dark nights mixed in with overly ambitious New Year's resolutions meant I felt as if I was only just about surviving and it was only the start of the year…”
In response to these feelings, James adopted a new mantra inspired by his dogs: "Take each day as a new day." He explained this philosophy further:
"But a few years ago I set myself a new mantra which was inspired by my dogs. Don't spend every moment thinking of the one to come, or ones in the past. The past is imperfect, the future will be too – take each day as a new day, you can be excited about the future…the past won't mind!"
James expressed gratitude for the time he has with Inigo and emphasized the importance of cherishing each moment together. He stated:
"He has been in our lives for just a few weeks but they have been the most special of my life getting to know our beautiful baby boy."
The family's ski trip also included practical elements that catered to their new lifestyle. James has equipped himself with a bike and buggy for Inigo, ensuring that they can enjoy outdoor adventures together. As Inigo continues to grow, James acknowledges the bittersweet nature of parenthood—how quickly time passes can be both exhilarating and daunting.
