Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Islamabad, Pakistan's capital, late on Wednesday, marking a significant visit aimed at bolstering trade and military ties between Ankara and Islamabad. The Turkish leader received a warm welcome with red carpet treatment and a 21-gun salute at the airport. Accompanied by First Lady Emine Erdogan and a high-level delegation, his visit underscores the strengthening of bilateral relations amidst regional geopolitical shifts.
Erdogan's visit comes shortly after the United States embassy issued a travel advisory, highlighting a threat by the Pakistan Taliban against Islamabad's Faisal Mosque. In response, Pakistan has heightened security measures, deploying additional police officers and paramilitary forces to secure the Turkish delegation. This cautious environment illustrates the importance both nations place on ensuring the safety of their diplomatic interactions.

During his stay, President Erdogan will co-chair the 7th Session of the Pakistan-Turkiye High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC). Both countries are expected to sign several agreements as part of this collaborative effort. The discussions are likely to cover various issues, including the sensitive matter of Palestine.
