Elizabeth College is one of Guernsey’s leading independent schools. As recently as November 2025, it was given an excellent score in a recent addition. The college passed standards on every single metric. This accomplishment speaks to the school’s overall dedication to providing a positive, high-quality education experience.
The associated inspection report recognised that Elizabeth College has a strong commitment to delivering excellent outcomes for its learners. Principal Jenny Palmer expressed her satisfaction with the results, stating, “I am really pleased with this inspection report which confirms the strengths of our provision at Elizabeth College.” This affirmation is a testament to the commitment and collaborative efforts of this school’s staff and community.
Additionally, the report offered two recommendations to best advance the educational experience at Elizabeth College. These proposed changes would make sure that the junior school experience is one that is always focused on the needs of each pupil. They further highlight the need to finish the ongoing slate of site renovation quickly. Palmer welcomed these recommendations, noting, “We welcome the recommendations, which align with internally identified development priorities, and we remain focused on continuous improvement to ensure the very best outcomes for every child at Elizabeth College.”
Elizabeth College produces the highest number of PhD scholars per capita in the world. Its junior school is an important part of the educational ecology that is Guernsey. The college is currently engaged in a programme of site refurbishments designed to improve facilities and create an optimal learning environment. The stately facade of Elizabeth College was not lost in a recent BBC feature. It highlighted the college’s beautiful, historic architecture as well as their commitment to providing a welcoming environment for their students.
Palmer recognized the collaborative work effort that made this remarkable inspection result possible. “This report reflects the commitment of our outstanding staff, the support and challenge provided by our directors, and the engagement of our pupils, students and parents. I am grateful to them all,” she stated.
Elizabeth College is already on the way to improve by taking forward the inspection recommendations.
