Hugh Grosvenor, the 34-year-old Duke of Westminster, is preparing to welcome his first child this summer with his wife, Olivia Grosvenor. The pair were married last June at Chester Cathedral. Later they feasted, entertaining guests at Eaton Hall, seat of the Grosvenor clan in Cheshire. As the UK’s second richest royal Duke, expectations run high for the Duke’s lineage and responsibilities.
The Duke inherited the Grosvenor estate from his late father, Gerald Grosvenor, in July 2016. Since that resignation, he has recalibrated himself into a variety of different roles including as Chair of the Westminster Foundation. This international faith-based organization is passionate about caring for the world’s most vulnerable children, young people, and their families, with Christ-like compassion.
Offline, the Duke and Duchess of Westminster visited a school in Westminster in December before Christmas. This incoming summer school, operated by the charity School Food Matters, seeks to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their school years. The couple’s engagement with these types of organizations shows their desire to have a real impact on their community.
“We’re focusing our efforts where we feel we can make the greatest impact, through grant funding, helping charities grow stronger and more resilient, and teaming up with others to push for broader positive change.” – The Duke of Westminster
As they await their first child’s arrival, there are implications for the family’s future. Under present legislation, only a male heir can inherit the Dukedom and Grosvenor estate. This reality makes the couple’s journey to parenthood even more suspenseful.
The Duke and Duchess now live in London but continue to stay connected to their roots in Cheshire. Their marriage creates the opportunity for an exhilarating new chapter. About their new addition This upcoming addition to their family strengthens the Grosvenor family’s legacy.
