Dolly Parton Postpones Las Vegas Residency Due to Health Concerns

Music legend Dolly Parton has postponed her long-awaited Las Vegas residency, scheduled for December 4-13, due to health-related issues. This decision means a huge disappointment for Parton’s first full engagement in Las Vegas in 32 years. It was timed to run alongside the National Finals Rodeo.

The concerts themselves will be full of amazing, unique “hit-driven concert event” experiences. Fans can experience seven decades worth of her best-known songs, including “9 to 5,” “Jolene,” “I Will Always Love You” and “Coat of Many Colors.” The postponement announcement came from Parton herself via a statement on her Instagram account on September 28, 2025, at 7:49 PM.

In her original message to fans, Parton said she wants to make the show the best it can be. “You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you,” she stated. While she can continue working on projects from her Nashville home, she emphasized the need for “a little time to get show ready, as they say.”

She reassured her fans that she has no plans to retire from the music circuit. “And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” she added. She admitted that between all of that focus on acceleration, the present moment has pushed her to hit pause. “I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you,” she explained.

The residency, which was announced in June, sent ripples of anticipation through fans hungry to see the country legend return to the stage. The delay has altered those plans. Parton conceived of this rare engagement to celebrate her incredible catalog. It’s all part of her desire to reach her audience in an engaging atmosphere.

“I love you and thank you for understanding,” she shared.
