Dolly Parton Honors Late Husband, Carl Dean, with Heartfelt Tribute

Carl Dean, the beloved husband of country music icon Dolly Parton, passed away on March 3rd at the age of 82. The couple, married in 1966, enjoyed nearly 60 years of a private yet profound relationship. Carl Dean, who consistently avoided the spotlight, leaves behind his siblings Sandra and Donnie.

Dolly Parton announced her husband's passing on her social media accounts on Monday. In a heartfelt statement described as a "love note to family, friends and fans," Parton reflected on their long-lasting bond and expressed gratitude for the support she received.

"Thank you for all the messages, cards and flowers that you've sent to pay your respect for the loss of my beloved husband Carl."

Parton also shared her sentiments on their enduring love and the many cherished years they spent together.

"Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can't do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years."

The couple's marriage remained largely out of the public eye, with Dean choosing a life away from fame. However, Parton frequently spoke about their deep connection and credited their relationship's success to space, mutual respect, and a shared enjoyment of life.

Carl Dean's love for rock 'n' roll music significantly influenced Parton's recent "Rockstar" album. She noted that many songs were chosen because of his impeccable taste in music.

"Most of these songs I chose because of Carl, and because I knew they were good songs — 'cause he knows good music."

As Parton navigates this challenging time, she expressed peace in knowing her husband is at rest.

"He is God's arms now and I am okay with that."

She concluded her message by acknowledging the overwhelming support and requesting privacy for her family.

"Thank you for your prayers and sympathy. The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time."
