Dean Cain, the 59-year-old actor best known for his role in “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” has announced his intention to join the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In a recent interview with Fox News, Cain expressed his belief that the nation’s immigration system is “broken” and shared his support for President Donald Trump’s actions on immigration.
Cain’s move follows him posting a very extreme recruitment video on social media. The video went viral almost immediately, and hooked many of his young supporters. The former superhero actor stated, “It’s what I voted for, and he’s going to see it through, and I’ll do my part and help make sure it happens.” This proclamation signals that he intends to work from the inside to influence and develop immigration policies that reflect his deeply conservative philosophy and vision.
That was the sound, recently, of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem making a huge announcement. She lowered ICE’s age restrictions, permitting people to apply as young as 18 years old. There is no longer an upper-age limit. This is great news and opens immense doors for everyone. Of them, Cain is the most excited to receive this training and prepare to work in ICE.
Cain emphasized the importance of service, stating, “This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing.” He views his choice to join ICE as a moral responsibility and has labeled it “the right thing” to do amidst ongoing debates about immigration reform.
This announcement marks a radical shift for Cain. He’s played an enormous advocacy role within Hollywood ever since he made Superman fly in the mid 90s. Recently, he was seen at a ceremony honoring Mehmet Oz with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles. The reception was held on February 11, 2022. Photos by Chris Pizzello/Invision/AP
By taking this step, Cain is calling on other Americans to join him in making a move to join ICE. The Department of Homeland Security has echoed this sentiment, stating that “Superman is encouraging Americans to become real-life superheroes by answering their country’s call to join the brave men and women of ICE to help protect our communities and arrest the worst of the worst.”
In an unexpected turn of events, he is preparing to start a new chapter of life. His hope is that others will be as inspired to step forward and serve their country, particularly given the present national conversation about such immigration matters.
