DDG Seeks Restraining Order Against Halle Bailey Amid Custody Dispute

Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., known professionally as DDG, has filed for a restraining order against singer and actress Halle Bailey, amidst ongoing disputes regarding their son Halo. The couple is in the midst of a fierce custody struggle of their own, and it’s ugly. Both sides are accusing each other of pretty grave things.

DDG, 27, has previously accused Bailey, 25, of using emotional manipulation throughout their relationship. In his court filing, he claimed Bailey “routinely used emotional coercion, including but not limited to threats of self-harm” when he attempted to leave her. Furthermore, he alleged that she “weaponized our pregnancy,” threatening to “abort our baby should I not reconcile or accede to her demands.”

Beyond these emotional allegations, DDG further claimed that Bailey went “against [his] right to privacy.” DDG’s claims were bolstered by third-party statements from his mother, Tonya Granberry, and her fiancé, George Charlston. Granberry described a “clear and deliberate pattern of unauthorized surveillance and stalking,” indicating serious concerns about Bailey’s behavior.

The court has since granted DDG a temporary order of protection against Bailey. This protective order bars her from threatening, intimidating, assaulting, stalking, impersonating or monitoring him. DDG has shared that he has suffered physical abuse and intimidation during their long-term relationship.

Despite being estranged, Bailey is currently seeking exclusive legal and physical custody of their son, Halo. In the meantime, the battle rages on. She’s applied for permission to bring Halo with her while filming in Italy. In her reply to DDG’s allegations, Bailey suggested that he was the one “drumming up drama” and “badmouthing” her to his followers. She contended that he “should be present instead of simply leaving Halo with his family for days.”

A hearing to determine both sides’ requests for domestic violence restraining orders is set for June 24. The next court date will be very important in determining whether Halo’s new, permanent custody arrangement will be decided in Ohio or elsewhere. Additionally, it will respond to the specific allegations parent to parent.
