Cristiano Ronaldo Makes History with Century for Al Nassr Despite Super Cup Loss

Cristiano Ronaldo, the otherworldly five-time Ballon d’Or winner, netted his 100th goal for new club Al Nassr. He reached this incredible landmark at the Saudi Super Cup final held in Hong Kong Stadium. Ronaldo produced a brilliant performance, scoring a penalty with his team a half-time advantage. Al Nassr were unable to see the lead out, and Al-Ahli won 5-3 on penalties to take the first Saudi Arabian silverware of the season.

Ronaldo had an easy opener in the 41st minute, converting a neat looking penalty with great composure. This exceptional goal became the 100th milestone of his career, as he completed his century with Al Nassr. As a result of this achievement, he is the first player in history to score 100 competitive goals for four different clubs. Prior to arriving at Al Nassr in December 2022, Ronaldo had established an amazing scoring ratio. He scored 450 goals at Real Madrid, 145 goals at Manchester United, and 101 goals at Juventus.

Within a handful of minutes after Ronaldo’s goal, Franck Kessie levelled for Al-Ahli, the script for a dramatic match fully prepared. The teams were even until the penalty shootout, which is where Ronaldo stepped up again, converting another penalty kick. Al Nassr battled valiantly in search of the winner, but it wasn’t to be. Teammate Abdullah al-Khaibari’s failed spot kick capped the defeat as they went out at the first hurdle.

Ronaldo become Al Nassr’s first century maker, adding to his great legacy. He is Portugal’s all-time top international goalscorer, with a jaw-dropping 138-goals to his name. Whatever the case, he has a knack for scoring goals. It’s this genius invisibility cloak that has cemented him as one of football’s all-time greats. Their recent clash with Al-Ahli was a perfect microcosm of his jaw-dropping skill and his team’s unrelenting struggles.
