Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling, LLC is conducting a voluntary recall of over 10,000 cans of Coca-Cola Original. The recall only applies to select 12-oz. cans produced on their Milwaukee, Wisconsin facility. The recall was ordered after it was found that the products did not measure up to the company’s quality assurance standards.
Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling started the recall March 6. It has been classified as a Class II recall by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as of March 24. The FDA’s initial classification of this product was Class II. This indicates that use of the recalled product may result in temporary or reversible health effects, but the risk of experiencing serious health consequences is extremely unlikely to occur.
According to the consumer notice, the impacted Coca-Cola Original cans were sold only in the states Illinois and Wisconsin. The recall was issued for 864 cases of 12-count Coca-Cola Original Taste cans. These cans carry specific identifiers: a UPC code of 0 49000-00634 6, a date code of Sept. 29, 2025 (SEP2925MDA), and a time stamp between 1100 and 1253. Additionally, the packaging bears the label "Canned Under Authority of the Coca-Cola Company, Atlanta, GA 30313."

For the safety of consumers, Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling recommends that consumers immediately discontinue using these affected cans. Return them to the store you bought them from for a complete refund. In a press release, the company has focused on their quality and safety priorities as motivators for this recall action.

Since the recall has started, Coca-Cola has referred all questions about the recall to Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling. At the moment, they have declined to provide any further comment.
