Celebrating Lilibet’s Fourth Birthday: A Royal Milestone in California

Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, our little star, just celebrated her fourth birthday! She is the second and youngest child of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on June 4, 2021, at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California. She made history as the first senior royal baby born in the United States and the first great-grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II born outside of the United Kingdom.

The family of four now resides in Montecito, California. Their decision to move to the U.S. was particularly surprising since they took that step years after retreating from their senior royal duties. Lilibet’s older brother Archie, who was born in London in 2019, turned six in May. Speaking recently, Prince Harry revealed that both children are thriving in their new surroundings and he couldn’t be prouder of their developments.

Along with each of these qualities, they are both extremely funny. They inspire us to be more hilarious and more serious all at the same time every day, just like all little tykes do,” remarked during an interview with ABC News.

In celebration of Lilibet’s big day, Meghan posted several clips from the day’s festivities to her Instagram account. Among these were two photos of the intimate moments that speak to Lilibet’s bond with her father. According to Meghan, it was “the most precious connection to witness grow.” Most importantly, she painted a portrait of the goodness and love that abounds in their family.

In an adorable scene caught on Instagram, Meghan reflected on the births of her children. All of her children were born a week late! “Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work – there was only one thing left to do! 😂” she posted alongside a throwback photo from Lilibet’s birth.

In between it all, Meghan shared more personal look into their new routine and corresponding realities. It was on these deep family roots that Lilibet, assigned to join her mother in the production of preserves, shines, determined and eager. “No, no, Mama, I’ll do it. I’ll stir it. I’ll mash it,” she reportedly exclaimed while assisting Meghan in the kitchen.

In addition to celebrating Lilibet’s birthday, Meghan continues to share insights into their family’s life through her Netflix show “With Love, Meghan,” which premiered in March. The series provides fans an intimate look at what life is like for them in California.

She now faces heavy expectations growing up, as any child born into the royal lineage would be. From their public statements, it is clear that both Prince Harry and Meghan feel honored to be parents. Harry, who has relayed how important family is to him since becoming a father himself, said simply, “I’m just incredibly thankful to be a parent.”
