Following her recent return single, “Pam,” rapper Cardi B has officially announced her sophomore full-length album, Am I the Drama? It’s set to release on September 19 and is her first solo project since her Grammy-winning debut, “Invasion of Privacy” released back in 2018. The title alone has already mesmerized fans and the media. Plenty of folks are guessing that it might be an allusion to a legendary line from Drag Race queen Scarlet Envy.
Scarlet Envy caused a storm in an interview while promoting “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 6” in 2021. She even went viral last year for asking, “Is it gonna be her? Is she the drama?” That quote immediately took the fandom by storm, turning into one of the most popular memes that has lasted through the years. Scarlet Envy made her “Drag Race” debut on season 11 in 2019. She subsequently came back for All Stars 6 and will be on “UK vs. the World” season 2, premiering early 2024.
The initial album announcement sent a shockwave of excitement across the internet. It didn’t take long for fans to connect Scarlet Envy’s quote to the real rapper and the real queen. Cardi B’s rep verified that the rapper is indeed a huge fan of Scarlet Envy. As we patiently wait for that merger to be formally announced, they’re reportedly still in discussions about a possible collaboration.
